I still dream about Universal Studios with all the great . I remember all the spectacular rides and simulators and the shows. But I still clearly remember a horrid memory when going to Universal Studios. That nightmare, that I still remember clearly, was the planning that my parents and I had to do.Â
My family and I had so much to do, we had to find the best tickets, find out what which time there in, see which rides to prioritize, where to stay, and check out the events in Universal Studios. We had to do that for a week before we could even get the plane ride!Â
But through that experience, we learned a lot about what to do in Universal Studios and had a great experience!Â
I also want you to have that great experience too so I categorized all the things I learned in this blog so you could know all the great things about Universal StudiosÂ
Table Of Contents
Universal Studios is a great place if you’re seeking thrill rides and shows. It comprises two main theme parks, namely Universal Studios Florida, and Universal’s Islands of Adventure, along with a water park called Volcano Bay. Universal Orlando features a wide range of attractions, including thrilling roller coasters, 3D and 4D rides, immersive experiences, and shows based on popular movies, TV shows, and characters including Harry Potter, Transformers, Minions, Jurassic Park, and The Simpsons.
Visitors can also enjoy various dining options, from quick-service restaurants to fine dining experiences, and shop for souvenirs, merchandise, and memorabilia at the numerous gift shops and boutiques located throughout the parks.
They also also offers a range of hotels, like the Hard Rock Hotel, Loews Portofino Bay Hotel, and Cabana Bay Beach Resort, that provide visitors with a complete vacation experience, including theme park benefits, early park admission, and access to exclusive events.
The best time to visit Universal Studios depends on your priorities and the experience you are looking for. However, there are some general guidelines to consider.
If you want to avoid long lines and crowds, it’s best to avoid visiting on weekends, holidays, and during peak season (June-August and December-January). Mid-week visits during off-peak season (September-November and February-May) can provide lower wait times and smaller crowds.
However, if you want to experience seasonal events and shows such as Halloween Horror Nights or Christmas at Wizarding World of Harry Potter, then it’s best to plan your visit accordingly. These events typically happen in the fall and winter months.
Finally, keep an eye on the weather. Rainy days can lead to lower crowds but can also affect the operation of some attractions. it usually rains a lot in the Summer so go during the Fall season.Â
How Many Days Should You Be There?
The ideal number of days to spend in Universal Studios Orlando depends on your preferences and schedule. \
However, to fully experience all that Universal Studios has to offer, it is recommended to spend at least two or three days in the parks. This will allow you to explore both theme parks, visit the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, enjoy some of the popular attractions like the Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit and the Revenge of the Mummy, watch live shows and much more.Â
If you have an express pass, you would be able to zoom through the rides and probably be able to see everything in two days.Â
Additionally, staying for three days or more will also give you more time to enjoy some of the off-site options like CityWalk, the Volcano Bay water park, and explore other nearby attractions like SeaWorld and Disney World. Ultimately, the duration of your trip will depend on your personal interests and the time and budget you have available.
Universal fans have a lot of options when buying tickets, there are different types, and how you could pay for them.Â
Types of Universal Tickets
Universal tickets are a popular way to experience the various theme parks, rides, and attractions within the Universal Studios chain. There are a few different types of Universal tickets available depending on your needs and budget.
Firstly, there are standard 1-day or multi-day tickets which are pretty cheap, which grant admission to only one theme park for the designated time period. This is the most basic and economical option, but they do not include any additional perks or benefits.
You then can buy Park To Park tickets that allow you to switch between any Universal Park as you wish. This may be a more expensive option but it allows you to hit more than one park in one day.
Guests can also upgrade to a VIP Experience ticket which includes a guided tour of the park, behind-the-scenes access, and even private meet-and-greets with characters.
Lastly, Universal also offers annual passes which allow for multiple visits throughout the year, along with discounts and special offer. This offer may seem more pricy but the annual pass only costs 8 dollars more than tickets for one trip.
Buying Directly From Universal Studios
In their website, Universal Studios almost always has ticket specials available for you. Make sure you read the fine print to see if it is the right one for you. They may throw in discounts for the Volcano Bay water park, a free day at the park, or an express pass.Â
Tickets From Other Vendors
If you don’t want to buy from the website, you could buy them from other reputable vendors.Â
One of them is UnderCoverTourist. One great thing about it is that they have old tickets that could sell for cheaper. They also provide great deals on rental cars, theme parks, hotels, and cruises.
Also, if you go to Costco, you could buy Universal vacation packages that include tickets and on site hotel nights.Â
If you’re planning a trip to Universal Studios, you may be dreading long wait times for popular attractions. Luckily, there are a few ways to skip the lines and make the most of your visit.
One option is to arrive early or stay late. Lines tend to be shorter during the first and last hours of the day, so arriving early or staying late can help you avoid long wait times. This also allows you to enjoy the park when it’s less crowded and potentially cooler.
You can also take advantage of single rider lines. Many rides have separate lines for individuals willing to ride alone. By taking this route, you may be able to bypass longer lines and jump on the ride quickly.
There are a few ways to skip the lines but those ways can make your experience a little less enjoyable. Another way is to obtain passes to shorten the wait on the line.
Universal Express Pass
One option is to purchase a Universal Express Pass. This pass grants you access to a separate express line for most rides and attractions. While this option can add an additional cost to your trip, it can significantly reduce your wait times and allow you to fit more into your day. Prices can range from 80 dollars to as high as 280 dollars so you need to think if it is worth it to trade money for time.
Universal Express Pass Unlimited
The Unlimited Pass lets you in the express lane for participating rides as many times as you want in the Universal Studios and Islands Of Adventure.Â
Passes start at 109 dollars per person although the passes charge 30 dollars less than a normal universal express pass.Â
Guests Acommodations Pass
If you have any disability or handicap, you could work with your social worker to get this pass as the park will accommodate you as best as you can.Â
For rides, they will let you skip the line as you go on an elevator with an escort to rides. Again, you need your social worker or doctor to help you get this so ask your doctor if you’re eligible.Â
Now that you have your tickets all sorted out, finding the right place to stay is crucial for maximizing your time and enjoyment. From budget-friendly hotels to luxurious resorts with exclusive theme park perks, you have a lot of options so carefully consider which hotels to book based on your budget and preference.Â
If you are looking for a hotel experience that offers a consistent and standardized service, regardless of your location, Universal hotels are a perfect choice. They ensure that you feel comfortable and at ease at any of their hotels, providing you a home away from home environment.Â
Additionally, Universal hotels boast a wide range of amenities to meet the needs of all their guests, including swimming pools, fitness centers, and exquisite dining options. These amenities ensure that you can have an enjoyable and relaxed vacation without having to leave your hotel.Â
Not only they are close to the Universal Hotels, but guests of Universal Studios can go to Universal Studios early.
Universal Studios only open select rides for early admission which varies by day and only certain attractions. This is useful because in the day, those rides usually have long lines. To see which rides are going to be open for early admission, you could check out this website to make your morning worth.Â
Also, this is your chance to ride Hagrid’s Newest Harry Potter Ride without a long line because this rides usually is not in the participatory rides for the Universal Express Pass or the Universal Unlimited Express pass.Â
Staying in these hotels can give you complimentary options to travel to get between Universal Studios, Citywalk, and Islands Of Adventure. Some of these hotels, including Loew’s Portofino Bay Hotel, Loew’s Royal Pacific Resort, and Loew’s Sapphire Hotels offer boat shuttle rides.Â
In the downside, the hotels’ prices are very hefty. Every great hotel comes at a price but some of the Universal hotels are cheaper than others.Â
Surfside Inn and Suites and Dockside Inn and Suites – 91 per night on off-peak dates
Aventura and Cabana Bay – 130 per night
Royal Pacific, Hard Rock or Portofino Bay $325 per night

Great Off-Site Hotels
If you don’t want to pay the price of Universal Studios Hotels, there are a plethora of hotels near Universal to choose from. We found the greatest hotels to accommodate to your needs.
Hotels with Walking Distance of Universal:
– Hyattt Place across from Universal Orlando
– Hilton Garden Inn Orland International Drive North
Universal Studios is a popular destination for film and theme park enthusiasts around the world. The park is divided into eight sections, Production Central, New York, San Francisco, The Wizarding World Of Harry Potter, World Expo, Springfield USA, and Hollywood. Because the day is short and rain can come any second, you would need a plan to hit the attractions you want to see most so you maximize your experience in the day.Â
When you first head into Universal Studios keep walking forward to enter Hollywood Studios and see Despicable Me Minion Mayhem, Villain Con, Transformers 3-D and the thrilling ride Rip Ride Rock-it. I would recommend riding all of those rides except Villain-Con, I didn’t really see anything special about Villain Con. The MIB shooter is way more immersive.Â
After Production Central, keep heading forward and then take a right. Then, you would find yourself in New York. New York includes a mix of pop culture and classic attractions, such as the Revenge of the Mummy ride, which takes you on a thrilling journey through ancient Egyptian tombs.Â
After New York, you would head to San Francisco where they feature high-octane rides inspired by Hollywood blockbusters, such as the Fast & Furious. The simulators make you feel like you’re in the movie as you’re immersed in the responsive ride.
Â
At the top right of the map, you would find yourself in Diagon Alley, where the dreams of Harry Potter fans become reality. The main attraction there would be Harry Potter and The Escape From Gringotts where you would come face to face with Harry Potter and his friends while they try to escape Voldemort. Once you’ve done that I would recommend eating at Leaky Cauldron where they serve butterbeer and other delights. Â
Near Leaky Cauldron you would see a massive stone dragon on top of a house and every 15 minutes it breathes fire. If hear a loud growl, put out your camera because that means it is about to spew hot fire.
I then would recommend walking over to World Expo to ride the MEN IN BLACK ride. In this ride, you are given a laser gun to tag all the aliens to get more points. Different aliens get you more points so remember that if you want to have the highest score.
Then walk over to Springfiend USA to ride the Simpsons Ride as it is a must ride. In there, you will ride a rollercoaster with the Simpsons and have lots of fun!
If you have little kids, send them over to Kang & Kodo’s Twirl’n Hurl where they would have the time of their lives.Â
If you have a lot of time left in the day, you might as well check out Hollywood to see iconic Hollywood stars in shows like the Bourne Spectacular.
If you want to check out Islands Of Adventure and you have a Park to Park Pass, head back to Diagon Alley to catch the train in Hogwarts Express. This train is no ordinary train as the train ride is supposed to be like the Hogwarts train in Harry Potter and they have Harry Potter Imagery in the window and the door.
Islands Of Adventure
Islands of Adventure is another of Universal’s theme park. It is famous for the Velocicoaster and Hagrid’s Magical Creatures. I recommend going there early and ride them first so you wouldn’t need to deal with large crowds or delays. They both at the opposite end of the park but near Hogwart’s express which means if you came from Diagon Alley it won’t be that much of a trip to go there.Â
If you want more thrill rides, you could check out the Hulk Coaster and the Spider Man Dark Ride.Â
Next, head to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter where you would find Harry Potter themed souvenirs and rides.
If you want something to take home, Hogsmeade has great souvenirs. You can also check out Hogwarts’ signature sporting event at the Quidditch Supply and More, which sells brooms and other Quidditch gear.Â
For food, Hogsmeade has a warm and welcoming tavern that serves up delicious butterbeer, pumpkin juice, and hearty meals.Â
Near there, is the Harry Potter And The Forbidden Journey, the simulator that will get you up close with the Harry Potter Characters. However, it can be a bit nauseating so if you get easily nauseous, don’t go there.Â
Then, check out Jurassic Park as it takes you on an adventure through prehistoric times with attractions like the Jurassic Park River Adventure and Camp Jurassic play area. Also, you could get a giant turkey leg from Thunder Falls Terrace In Jurassic Park.
Â
Overall, a visit to Islands of Adventure offers a day of excitement, thrills, and adventure for all ages. With careful planning and a sense of adventure, visitors can have an unforgettable experience on this island paradise.
University Studios also has a waterpark called Volcano Bay. This water park is an exciting and captivating attraction that promises to satisfy your thirst for adventure. This fantastic destination is nestled inside the renowned Universal Orlando Resort, boasting a breathtaking volcano theme that must be experienced. There are countless things to see and do at Volcano Bay, with 18 different exciting water rides, activities, and attractions that will get your heart racing. The park’s majestic centerpiece is the impressive Krakatau volcano, standing tall at a whopping 200 feet! It features a stunning waterfall that spills into the park’s inviting wave pool, Waturi Beach.
One of the most exciting features of Volcano Bay is the innovative TapuTapu wearable gadget that assures guests maximum convenience. With TapuTapu, you can virtually wait for your turn on the rides and reserve a spot in the queue while still exploring the park’s many wonders. You can also enjoy a plethora of dining options, including the Kunuku Boat Bar and The Feasting Frog, which boast a hassle-free cashless payment system.

If three parks, wasn’t enough Universal has its own mall called Citywalk. It is a popular entertainment and dining destination located adjacent to the Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida. The complex offers a vibrant atmosphere, featuring a range of restaurants, shops, and nightlife venues.
The Dining experience available at the CityWalk is diverse and offers something for everyone. Visitors can choose from fast food chains, such as Burger King and Subway, to casual dining options like the Hard Rock Cafe or Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville. Additionally, there are specialty restaurants like the Cowfish Sushi Burger Bar that features an innovative menu of fusion sushi burgers.
Besides dining, CityWalk provides a range of entertainment options to visitors. The popular complex is home to the Blue Man Group, a sensory-driven show featuring comedy, music, and technology. Visitors can also take in a movie at Universal Cinema or rock out to live music at Hard Rock Live, a popular concert venue that has hosted acts like Gwen Stefani and Dave Matthews Band.
CityWalk offers retail shopping with great variety to meet all shoppers’ needs. From clothing stores like Fossil and Quiet Flight Surf Shop, to souvenir shops like the Universal Studio Store, visitors can find the perfect gift or outfit.
When it comes to nightlife, CityWalk has plenty to choose from, including the epicenter of the party scene, the Red Coconut Club, which features top DJs spinning club hits, and an ultra-lounge setting for guests to dance the night away.
With all of these entertainment options combined, CityWalk is a must-visit destination for anyone seeking thrilling entertainment, great food, and a lively atmosphere.
Universal Studios is a popular theme park in Hollywood, California, known for its exciting rides, attractions, and shows. It is one of the biggest movie studios in the world, with visitors enjoying behind-the-scenes insights into the filmmaking process. The park is divided into distinct zones, including Harry Potter World, Jurassic Park, The Simpsons, and many more.
Overall, Universal Studios offers a diverse range of attractions and experiences for visitors of all ages. Because Universal is kind of pricy, you should try to maximize your vacation and treat it like you’re not going to go there again even if you are going to go there again.
When I experienced Universal Studios, I had so much fun and it was an unforgettable experience. I hope this article helps you find that experience too.
